A word of warning, on the return you would be ill advised to walk straight across New Barns Bay as I did, far safer to follow a perfectly good path around the edge, the gully in the centre can hold very soft sand, it is easy to get stuck, on this occasion the sand looked hard, it was, I was lucky.
Over Arnside Knott and Heathwaite.
