My darling daughter turned up today, it seems somebody, not me has given her permission to use our washing facilities until the credit crunch is over, not only that she tells me she needs to build a portfolio to gain entry to University, I wonder who's paying for that?, can I take her walking, "of course", then the bombshell, "I'll need some waterproofs, boots and big bag, you wouldn't want me to get cold wet and miserable would you", I wasn't particularly bothered to be honest but I agreed, watch this space. She'd brought her camera as well as her washing so we started her new walking and photography career with a quick walk over Arnside Knott.

No map required, from Arnside Knott car park we headed straight up the hill passing the view finder then Knotty Tree before reaching the summit, south from the summit on a delightful path carrying us above the scree slopes with stunning views as far as Ingleborough 18 miles to the east, we then descended in the direction of Heathwaite on reaching the main bridleway we turned right to head back to the car park. Fifty minutes with spectacular views and the setting sun just adding to the atmosphere. I don't know how her photo's turned out she's no computer at the moment, it looks like I'll be buying her a Laptop shortly, she's coming round on Thursday with more washing and her memory card, I've just been told to "stop grumping".
