Haweswater.

Haweswater a shy lake hidden from public view and tucked away from the roads.

The edges of the lake are protected by the Lancashire Trust for Nature Conservation, I presume they provided these wonderful duckboards to aid our passage.

The strange landscape of Black Dyke full of humps an hollows, These or the remains of Salt Pits, as the tide ebbed and flowed the water was allowed to evaporate and the precious salt collected.

On a normal day the path follows the fence line into Middlebarrow Wood but not today, a slight detour was called for via Arnside Tower.
